About This Event

Before we speak, we settle. This one-day reflective retreat invites writers, cultural workers, and community leaders into a quieter kind of anti-racism work — one that begins with stillness rather than confrontation.

Grounded in Daoist practice, the day moves from guided reflection on racism and identity, to bilingual storytelling, to a shared meal and a story circle held in the round. Participants write, speak, and listen.

The retreat asks a simple, demanding question: what part of you has stayed silent in the face of racism? What follows is a day of soft power — the strength that gathers when people are finally able to tell the truth in their own voice.
